About the Conference

The AYUSH System is gaining popularity in today’s world and the integration of traditional and modern systems, encapsulated by the AYUSH framework, offers a promising approach for a sustainable and healthy living. By the combination of the strengths of both the systems individuals can benefit from comprehensive health care approach that addresses the root causes of illness, promotes prevention and holistic well being. The main objective of the conference is to disseminate research based knowledge, experiences with professionals of various fields, both the modern and traditional so as to create awareness of traditional systems. Also to provide greater understanding and collaboration between the AYUSH and modern researches and practitioners and development of strategies for promoting AYUSH practices in public health initiatives.

About the University

Islamic University of Science and Technology, Kashmir

The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora, J&K, was established through Act No. XVIII of 2005 by the J&K State Legislature. The university began operations in November 2005, with teaching programs starting in July 2006. The Chancellor of the University is the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, and the Executive Council, including the Vice Chancellors of several universities, holds executive authority. IUST is accredited by NAAC, recognized by UGC under Sections 2(f) and 12(b) of the UGC Act, and its technical and nursing programs are approved by AICTE and INC. It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

IUST offers over 35 undergraduate programs, 20 postgraduate streams, and PhD research in 25 areas across more than 25 departments and 20 centers. The university was the first in J&K to implement NEP 2020 and has introduced new skill courses through the Kalam Academy of Skills. Recently, it established centers such as the Centre for AYUSH Science, Center for Artificial Intelligence, Centre for Disaster Risk Reduction, and others focused on innovation, renewable energy, and interdisciplinary sciences.

About the Centre

The Centre for AYUSH Science was established at the Islamic University of Science and Technology on 05-06-2023.  The Centre was established to promote development and scientific research in the field of AYUSH system of medicine. The Centre of AYUSH Science is a research oriented centre with a mandate of providing high quality research in the traditional medicine. The centre has an associated health and wellness centre at the university campus with a fully functional OPD and regimenal therapy unit, which provides clinical services to research and general patients. The Centre has ongoing clinical trials where patients are enrolled in research projects provided at no cost. The centre also has main focus on areas like tribal medicine, non communicable, and life style disorders.
